Yusur: Season 1 summary

Season 1 was the first season of Johncraft. It was heavily modded and it lasted between May 2026 and August 2026.

Beginning and brainstorming
Following Rivulé Rainworld's ban from Nguhcord on 28 March 2026 (later repealed), malcontent among unUŊ members grew. Chronos, who was then (and is currently) developing Worm cubes, had the idea for a Minecraft server for the unUŊ.

The server was dubbed Johncraft and a discussion started on which mods to include. Yusur provided the hosting for the Minecraft server, which ran on NeoForge and was heavily modded.

First days
Johncraft started on 27 May 2026. Chronos was made an operator.

Everyone except Yusur eventually settled in Hatylon.

Various problems
On 15 June 2026, Create bug #10218 left the server on an invalid state, almost killing Johncraft. Yusur deleted all entities in the same chunk; resulting in all entities and mobs in Hatylon dying. This was dubbed The Sacrifice.

Johncraft players reported that Bob, another beloved mobcitation needed, died during a server restart around 23 July 2026.

The end
At some point in July-August 2026, fewer and fewer people could connect successfully. First, some mods causing issues was the problem; at that point kaw57 provided a clone of their own Johncraft installation. After 8 August 2026, the only people who could connect were Yusur and Chronos. Everyone else could not connect for reasons still unknown.

On 5 September 2026, Yusur took the sad decision to take offline the Minecraft server. A backup was made.

Yusur: the sacrifice

the sacrifice was an event that risked to kill johncraft for good, and definitely killed every entity in the city, including villagers, cats, and contraptions.

history
on 15 july 2026, 03:30 CEST, something caused the game to crash. hummus, the only player at the time, was disconnected, and

later, yusur tried to restart the server, twice. something was causing the game to crash, later found out to be a bug in create.

this prompted yusur to delete
world/entities/r.-1.-2.mca
and restart the server again, this time succeeding.

but at what cost?
